Showcasing our raw talent

It’s that time of year again where Raw Photographic celebrates the photographic creativity of all members with an annual exhibition. A perfect time for such an occasion, the annual exhibition marks the end of the summer and the start of a new year for the club. As the daily rhythm of life starts back from the holidays, we take time to slow down and appreciate how our talents have grown over the past year.

Our annual exhibition takes place at Lisburn City Library, and as a central hub to the community, what better place to invite family, friends and the wider community to join us for some nibbles, drinks, chats, laughs...and of course viewing of some fine photographic pieces. So that’s exactly what we did!

Last Thursday evening we hosted a launch night to set the tone for our gallery display, which can be viewed at the library until the 27th of September. At the opening night, club members had a great time showcasing their images, which span over two floors and sees captivating portraits to beautiful landscapes, historical architecture, silent buildings, micro detailing, and nature’s wildlife. The gallery displays the variety of interests of the group and the many subjects that can capture the eye, to later become one’s personal interpretation in an artistic piece.

As a group of camera enthusiasts, Raw Photographic members help each other to mature in photographic knowledge. We are a proactive bunch that meet monthly to learn from one another and venture together to quirky locations and events, with our cameras in hand. The opening launch of our 2019 exhibition was a great way to gain feedback from people outside of the group, and having heard some lovely comments we have been given an added boost of confidence to take with us into the year ahead.

If you would like to take a look at some of our work, head down to Lisburn City Library before Sept 27th and check out floors 1 and 2 - and don’t forget to leave a comment in the visitors book on floor 2. You can also view the online gallery, where you can also purchase prints should you fall in love with any of the images you see. Happy viewing!
