RAW Photographic Club – Final Club Night of the Year
Our final club night of the year was a memorable one, filled with inspiration, passion, and a deep appreciation for the art of photography.
We were treated to a wonderful talk from Simon, one of our members, who generously shared his personal photographic journey - a journey that began an impressive 44 years ago.
Throughout his presentation, he reflected on how photography has shaped his life, the changes he has witnessed in the craft, and the creative paths he has explored along the way.
What truly captivated the room, however, was his passion for ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) photography.
His enthusiasm for this expressive, abstract style shone through every image and story.
A highlight of the evening was hearing about the three months Simon dedicated to photographing Bloody Bridge, capturing its atmosphere, textures, and movement as part of his upcoming solo exhibition.
His commitment to returning to the same location again and again—studying its light, mood, and energy—was both inspiring and motivating for everyone present.
It was a fantastic night, made even more special by hearing from a fellow club member whose dedication and love for photography remind us why we gather as a community in the first place. Thanks so much, Simon!
A perfect way to close the year—full of creativity, insight, and shared passion.
