Following on from the macro adventures in Belvoir Forest, club members met on Tuesday 5th November to continue developing their skills in macro photography.
A range of cameras, tripods and macro lenses were set to work in different locations around the room. Light boxes proved very helpful in ensuring the subjects were well lit and a wide range of objects were scrutinised under the macro lens. These included flowers, shells, leaf skeletons and even a bird skeleton!
The session allowed members to revisit and revise skills such as changing the focal point and focus stacking images. Other members discovered the joy of focus shift shooting on the Nikon (which I’m sure Canon cameras can do too!).
There was plenty of interaction between members, sharing advice and information and no one got remotely frustrated by the movement of the table or floorboards during the point of shutter release!
It was a very worthwhile and entertaining evening and hopefully we will see some lovely images as a result.
