It's a Mystery!

Mystery Box Photo Night

The first club meeting of 2026 was a relaxed evening of practical photography. Club members brought along an array of ‘mystery’ objects which were then ‘pooled’. Members then selected objects that they were interested in photographing and organised their own composition. Robert provided a treasure trove of material from ‘forgotten Ulster’ which included old newspapers, lamps, spectacles, hats, pocket watches and books to name but a few items.

There was a wide range of subject material to choose from and a variety of compositions and shooting methods employed. These included using light boxes, macro shots, focus stacking and placing the object on specific surfaces such as darkened glass. There was a hive of activity and the evening provided a great opportunity for members to mingle, chat and share their creative compositions. I think you will agree that there were some great captures from the evening.
