FIRST CLUB OUTING OF THE YEAR - WILD IRELAND
This past weekend marked the first official outing for Raw Photographic – and what a brilliant start it was! We headed to Wild Ireland, an incredible wildlife sanctuary nestled on the northwest coast of Donegal, and were lucky enough to be greeted with sunshine (though, at times, a bit too harsh for those chasing perfect lighting).
A warm welcome to our two newest members, who joined us for the first time on this trip – it’s always exciting to see the group growing and connecting over a shared love of photography.
A special shoutout goes to little Eli, the toddler son of one of our club members, who joined us for the adventure and brought an extra smile to everyone’s day.
As for the stars of the show – the animals did not disappoint! We were treated to sightings of:
Majestic Eurasian Brown Bears lounging in the sun
A pair of stunning Arctic Foxes
Curious Raccoon Dogs
A sleepy family of Monkeys
The silent grace of Owls
And even Wolves pacing in the shadows of the trees
Each encounter presented its own photographic challenges and rewards, especially under the bright midday sun. It was a great opportunity to experiment with different settings, filters, and techniques, and many members walked away with some standout shots (we can’t wait to see them shared!).
We wrapped up the day with a relaxed coffee and catch-up – sharing images, tips, and laughs, already looking forward to the next outing.
